Increased Thefts Alert for Allotment Owners in Looe

Published On: 10 February 2024Last Updated: 10 February 2024By

Liskeard Police have issued a warning to allotment owners in the Looe area following a spate of thefts from local allotments. Authorities are urging owners to take extra precautions to secure their property amidst these incidents.

The police have advised allotment owners to thoroughly check their allotments and ensure that no valuable items are left within sheds or lock-ups. Given the isolated nature of many allotments, which are often not overlooked, there is an increased risk of theft. Owners are encouraged to remove any valuable items and ensure that their sheds and lock-ups are locked securely.

For those affected by theft or who notice suspicious activity, the Police have provided guidance on how to report these incidents. Victims are encouraged to call 101 or visit the Devon and Cornwall Police website, where they can find a link to report their crime online.

The community is also encouraged to share this warning with fellow allotment owners and to look out for one another during this time. The Police extend their thanks to the community for their cooperation and vigilance in helping to address and prevent further thefts from allotments in the area.
