Police Speed Checks This Week (22nd to 28th December): Where Officers Will Be Watching

Drivers are being reminded to keep an eye on their speed this Christmas as Devon & Cornwall Police Road Safety Team confirms where officers will be carrying out speed checks over the coming days.

The team has shared a list of locations where they will be operating throughout the week, covering several areas across Cornwall and Devon.

Tuesday
Truro, Penryn, A38 Plymouth, Plymouth city, Newton Abbot, Ashburton

Wednesday
A38 Plymouth, Plymouth City, A38 and A380 South Devon

Saturday
Bodmin, St Austell, Newquay, Exeter, Honiton

Sunday
Teignbridge, Barnstaple, Bideford, Liskeard

Christmas road safety message

The Road Safety Team shared a seasonal reminder alongside the locations, saying:

“Please don’t get yourself on the naughty list just before Christmas.”

They also added:

“Enjoy the Christmas break and remember that keeping your speed down decreases the chance of being involved in a serious collision. Don’t ruin your Christmas or someone else’s for the sake a few mph…”

Motorists travelling over the festive period are being urged to take extra care, particularly on familiar routes, and to allow more time for journeys during the busy Christmas break.
