A Sanctuary for Birds and Animals
The Cornish Birds of Prey Centre prides itself on being a sanctuary for birds and animals that have been mistreated or neglected. Unlike many commercial centres, it does not breed and sell birds for profit, focusing instead on providing a permanent and caring home for each animal. The centre’s ethos is grounded in the belief that education and awareness can significantly reduce the number of unwanted birds, often influenced by movies, media, and the pet trade.
Educational Mission
The centre’s mission is to educate visitors about the beauty, magnificence, and needs of birds of prey. Through engaging flying displays and informative sessions, it aims to provide a fun, relaxed, and informed environment where visitors can learn about the commitment required to own a bird of prey. The ultimate goal is to prevent impulsive purchases of these animals as pets and to highlight the needs of birds and animals bought for this purpose.
The Cornish Birds of Prey Centre CIC relies entirely on the generosity of its visitors, sponsors, and donors, with all proceeds from ticket sales and contributions going towards the care and maintenance of the centre. By purchasing a season ticket, visitors not only enjoy a unique experience but also contribute to the welfare and protection of these magnificent animals.
