Christmas Sparkles at Eden Project: Lights, Father Christmas, and Festive Fun

Published On: 29 November 2024Last Updated: 29 November 2024By

Christmas has officially arrived at the Eden Project, with more festive lights than ever illuminating the iconic Biomes and outdoor gardens. Running on select dates until 5th January, the experience promises enchanting family-friendly activities, extended evening openings, and an all-new Father Christmas show.

Lights Galore Across the Biomes

Visitors can look forward to spectacular light displays in both the Mediterranean and Rainforest Biomes. The Mediterranean Biome offers lively festive cheer, with upbeat music and a dazzling light show every 30 minutes. Meanwhile, the Rainforest Biome features mesmerising illuminations paired with a powerful soundscape, making every corner a feast for the senses.

A Winter Wonderland Awaits Outdoors

The Eden Project’s outdoor gardens have been transformed into a captivating winter scene, featuring playful installations, a traditional fairground carousel, and Cornwall’s only glittering ice rink. Guests can soak in the crisp winter air while exploring the festive surroundings.

Father Christmas and Festive Activities

Father Christmas and his merry elves are bringing a brand-new musical experience to the Eden Project. Families can enjoy the show, meet Father Christmas in person, and post a special letter to the North Pole before receiving a gift. Additional highlights include Christmas crafts, a festive menu, and live performances by a local choir on select dates.

Simon Townsend, the Eden Project’s general manager, said: “The Eden Project at Christmas is such a unique experience. It totally transforms into this winter wonderland. As well as our amazing Father Christmas show, we’ve got Christmas crafts, an incredible festive menu and a local choir singing on select dates.

“We know it’s been a tough year for everyone, so we’ve pulled out all the stops to make this Christmas experience a really special day and evening out. We can’t wait for our guests to see all that we’ve got in store.”

Supporting Local Communities and Nature

The Eden Project’s Christmas events also contribute to its charitable work, which focuses on reconnecting people with nature both locally and globally. Initiatives include the creation of wildflower corridors and empowering communities to protect and regenerate green spaces.

Locals’ Pass and Ticket Information

For Devon and Cornwall residents, the new locals’ pass provides unlimited year-round entry at reduced rates of £23 per adult and £10 per child. Universal, Pension, and Legacy Credit admission costs are even lower, at just £5 for adults and £1 per child.

Tickets for Father Christmas, ice skating, and the wider Christmas experience are selling fast, and early booking is essential. For more details and to secure your spot, visit www.edenproject.com.
