Is That Zog in a Pumpkin? Magical Carving Appears at the Eden Project

A mysterious carving of Zog has appeared inside a vibrant pumpkin grown in the Eden Project’s Outdoor Gardens, ahead of his special visit to the attraction this October half term.

Autumn Magic at the Eden Project

The enchanting carving, based on Zog and the Flying Doctors by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, forms the centrepiece of a unique harvest display surrounded by a stunning selection of pumpkins in all colours, shapes and sizes. The display showcases pumpkins grown in the Eden Project’s Outer Estate since March.

From October 25th to November 2nd, visitors can expect a burst of autumnal colour across the site, with the Outdoor Gardens and Biomes filled with hues of gold, red and orange.

Meet Zog and Take on a Magical Challenge

Families visiting during half term can meet Zog himself throughout the day and take part in a new themed challenge around the Biomes and gardens. The interactive trail invites explorers to help Zog and the Flying Doctors by finding special ingredients hidden around the site.

As visitors uncover clues and characters from the story, they’ll solve a puzzle that leads to a final encounter inside the Mediterranean Biome, where families can step into the story’s final scene and imagine flying through the sky on Zog’s back.

Guests are encouraged to come dressed in their best Zog-inspired costumes and share their photos on the Eden Project’s social media channels.

Potions, Ice Skating and More

Inside the Core building, families can try their hand at potion-making, mixing natural ingredients to create their own Halloweden potions to take home.

The half term celebrations also see the return of the Eden Project’s ice rink, offering visitors the chance to skate in a magical setting surrounded by the attraction’s famous scenery.
