Newquay Orchard, a popular 7-acre green space in the heart of Cornwall, is gearing up for its 5th annual Fayre this September. The event promises to bring together the best of the community with a focus on wellbeing, learning, and local culture. Originally planned for June, the summer Fayre was postponed due to weather conditions but will now return in collaboration with the NHS Cornwall & Isles of Scilly, adding a fresh twist of health-focused activities and talks.
What to Expect at the Orchard Fayre
The Orchard Fayre is a celebration of all that Newquay Orchard represents—a hub for community connection, learning, and wellbeing. Visitors can expect a vibrant mix of market stalls, workshops, and games. Local food vendors like Heart and Soul will be serving delicious meals alongside other food outlets, ensuring no one leaves hungry.
There will also be entertainment for all ages, including live music, activities, and even mermaids making an appearance. For those interested in nature, bio-blitzing sessions will offer an opportunity to explore the wildlife of the Orchard.
Collaboration with NHS Cornwall & Isles of Scilly
A key feature of this year’s event is the collaboration with the NHS Cornwall & Isles of Scilly, bringing a focus on health and wellbeing to the Fayre. The partnership will offer engagement activities and talks aimed at promoting healthy living for all attendees.
A Decade of Community Impact
Jenny Hindson, Newquay Orchard’s COO, expressed her excitement for the event, stating: “The Fayre has always been a staple event in the Orchard’s calendar, and one we look forward to every year. This is a chance to showcase the amazing community space that has been built by our wonderful volunteers for our community over 10 incredible years.”
She added that the Fayre will highlight the various support programmes Newquay Orchard offers, which focus on promoting learning, health, and wellbeing.
