Falmouth Festive Weekend to Go Ahead with Wet Weather Plan

Published On: 4 December 2025Last Updated: 4 December 2025By

Falmouth’s Festive Weekend will go ahead this Saturday and Sunday, with organisers activating a wet weather contingency plan due to the high wind gusts forecast.

Thanks to the Town Team’s partnerships, several attractions will move indoors to the Princess Pavilion so the event can continue in a warm and fully festive setting.

Many activities are still taking place throughout the town centre, and visitors are encouraged to explore the high street and support the local businesses that help make Falmouth special.

A reminder has been issued that parking is free on Saturday 6th December in all Cornwall Council car parks throughout Falmouth.

What’s Staying in the Town Centre

The following attractions will continue as planned:

Festive Land Train
The land train will run on its pre planned route, helping people move around the town centre.

Snow Machines
Church Street will still become a winter scene with snow machines operating as planned.

High Street Christmas Market
The Old High Street will remain home to the Christmas Market with a mix of local traders.

What’s Moving to the Princess Pavilion

To keep everyone safe while the weather passes through, these attractions will now take place indoors at the Princess Pavilion:

Artificial Ice Rink and Snow Globe Photo Attraction
The indoor theatre will be set up with an artificial ice rink and a giant snow globe.

Live Festive Music and Choirs
Visitors can enjoy performances along with hot drinks and cake from the Pavilion café.

Santa’s Grotto
Children can meet Santa in his indoor Grotto and receive a small gift.

A Change Within the Town Centre

Christmas Market Marquee
The makers marquee originally planned for Events Square will now join the Market on The Moor, creating a larger festive marketplace.

Organisers Share Their Thanks

Town Manager Richard Gates said:
“We want to thank everyone for their understanding as we put our wet weather plan into action. Our teams and partners have been working incredibly hard behind the scenes to ensure we can still deliver a fantastic Festive Weekend, despite the typical Cornish weather trying its best to get in the way. We’re looking forward to welcoming residents and visitors for a brilliant, safe and festive celebration across the town.”

Falmouth Town Council, Falmouth BID and event partners say the wet weather plan allows Festive Weekend to continue safely without cancellation, while still offering a full programme of festive activities for families, residents and visitors. They also express their appreciation for the community’s support and look forward to welcoming everyone for a memorable weekend in Falmouth.
