Falmouth to Host First 50-Drone Christmas Light Show on 5th December
Falmouth is set for a new kind of festive spectacle this December as Afterglow Drone Shows Ltd, Cornwall’s first dedicated drone light show company, prepares to stage the town’s first public drone display.
The free 50-drone Christmas show will take place on Friday 5th December 2025 at 17:30, timed to coincide with Falmouth’s late-night shopping.
A First for Falmouth
The performance will illuminate Falmouth Harbour with a mix of nature-inspired formations and Christmas-themed shapes. The Gas Works Car Park has been named as the main viewing point, but it will be closed for the event, so visitors are being asked to find parking elsewhere in the town.
The 10-minute display is being delivered in collaboration with Falmouth Town Council and Town Mayor Alan Jewell, forming part of an effort to bring more environmentally conscious celebrations to Cornwall.
Cornwall Company Behind the Display
Founded in Falmouth, Afterglow Drone Shows aims to provide sustainable, low-noise alternatives to fireworks by using modern drone technology powered through green-energy charging.
“Our team is incredibly proud to bring Falmouth’s first drone show to our home town,” said Tom Wadsworth, founder of Afterglow Drone Shows Ltd. “We want to show people what’s possible right here in Cornwall creating magical moments in the sky, while pioneering a more sustainable approach to large-scale celebrations. This is just the beginning, and we can’t wait for families across Falmouth to experience it with us.”
If bad weather prevents the show from going ahead on the 5th, it will be moved to Saturday 6th December at the same time.
