Will Bodmin Jail’s Christmas Ghost Walk Give You the Chills?
Bodmin Jail has revealed its festive line-up for 2025, offering two limited-run Christmas experiences that mix history, hauntings and a touch of mischief. Visitors can choose between the family-friendly Naughty or Nice Guided Tour or the lantern-lit Christmas Ghost Walk, both promising a seasonal visit with a twist.
Naughty or Nice Guided Tour
This guided tour invites guests to explore how Victorian justice shaped festive traditions. Led by the Jail’s storytellers, visitors will look at the darker and sometimes humorous side of winter punishment and behaviour.
During the tour, guests will:
• Explore the darker and occasionally humorous side of Victorian justice
• Learn how the festive season was celebrated behind prison walls
• Discover how ideas of good and bad behaviour shaped sentencing
• Enjoy a tour that blends history, folklore and festive fun

Christmas Ghost Walk
For those who prefer something a little colder than tinsel and mince pies, the Christmas Ghost Walk offers a night-time experience through the shadowed cells. Lit by lanterns, it focuses on stories said to linger within the Jail.
The experience includes:
• Tales of hauntings, apparitions and unexplained encounters
• Insights into Cornwall’s winter ghost traditions and older local legends
• A walk through areas linked to figures believed to remain within the walls
• A festive season visit with a darker twist
Recommended for ages 12 and over, the Ghost Walk is aimed at couples, groups and anyone with an interest in the paranormal.

Food, Gifts and Winter Warmth
Bodmin Jail’s Moor Café is open without a ticket, offering hot chocolate by the fire, festive treats and a cosy spot to meet friends. Retail spaces are also open daily, including the new The Other Side store, which offers seasonal gifts and paranormal themed items.
New Paranormal Audio Trail
Every standard entry ticket now includes a Paranormal Audio Trail. This self-guided experience uses eyewitness accounts, historical material and sound design to explore some of the Jail’s most mysterious locations.
Corporate Christmas Packages
Corporate groups can arrange private Christmas experiences, from Ghost Walks to Naughty or Nice Tours, or relaxed pizza nights at the Moor Café. Groups of five or more can access discounted rates. Corporate bookings can be made by emailing lara.claudel@bodminjailattraction.co.uk.
A Mix of Festive Experiences
Jess Marlton, GM, said: “Our festive programme this year is designed to offer a true mix of experiences. Visitors can enjoy atmospheric ghost stories, fun family-friendly tours, great food, unique shopping, and an exciting new paranormal audio feature all under one roof.”
