Cornwall Heritage Trust Presents An Open-Air Improvised Theatre Event: “Tristan & Yseult”
This March, the Cornwall Heritage Trust, in partnership with Smashed Window Community Theatre, is set to bring a fresh and humorous take on one of Cornwall’s most celebrated legends, “Tristan & Yseult.” In a unique open-air theatre event, audiences will be treated to an entirely improvised rendition of the classic tale, promising both laughter and emotional moments.
The performances are scheduled for Sunday, 24th March, with two shows at 11 am and 2:30 pm, at the picturesque Indian Queens Pit near St Columb Major. Each show will run for approximately one hour and thirty minutes, including an interval, allowing audiences to immerse themselves fully in the improvised narrative crafted on the spot by a talented trio of actors.
This event marks a significant opportunity for families and individuals alike to experience live theatre in a dynamic and engaging format. The production is recommended for individuals aged 8 and above, making it a perfect cultural outing for a wide range of audiences.
In terms of accessibility, the Cornwall Heritage Trust has adopted a “pay as you feel” pricing strategy for adult tickets, offering options at £10, £12, and £15, while tickets for attendees aged 16 and under are set at a flat rate of £5. This approach ensures that the event is accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial situation.
Given the outdoor nature of the performance, attendees are advised to bring their own chairs or blankets for seating and to dress appropriately for the weather, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
The event has been made possible through the generous support of The National Lottery Heritage Fund, highlighting the importance of preserving and celebrating Cornwall’s rich heritage through innovative and engaging means.
Tickets for the event are available for booking online, offering an easy way for interested individuals to secure their spot at this not-to-be-missed performance.
This open-air improvised theatre event promises to be a memorable highlight of Cornwall’s cultural calendar this March, offering laughter, tears, and a unique approach to storytelling that will captivate and entertain audiences of all ages.
