Boslowick Halloween Fundraiser Returns to Raise Money for Last Chance Hotel

Published On: 9 October 2025Last Updated: 9 October 2025By

The much-loved Boslowick Halloween Fundraiser is set to return later this month, bringing spooky fun to Falmouth while raising money for the Last Chance Hotel animal charity.

Designed and created by Jo Phelps, the Halloween display at 136 Boslowick Road has become an annual tradition, drawing families from across the area. Over the years, the event has raised more than £3,500, with every penny donated going directly to the charity. The display itself is completely self-funded by Jo, who covers all costs personally to ensure that all donations benefit the cause.

Halloween Fun for All Ages

Families are being encouraged to visit throughout the October half term, where they can enjoy activity sheets and take part in a spooky roam around the garden before “trick or treat night”.

This year will also see the return of the colouring-in competition, which proved a hit last year. Children can collect a sheet, return it by the set date, and be entered for the chance to win prizes.

Creating an Inclusive Experience

Jo is also planning an afternoon or evening session during half term designed especially for families with neurodivergent children. This quieter time will give everyone the opportunity to explore the Halloween garden comfortably. Work is currently underway to identify the adjustments needed to make this inclusive experience possible.

Supporting The Last Chance Hotel

The Last Chance Hotel is a vital animal rescue charity in Cornwall, focusing on rehoming neglected animals, some of whom are too damaged to find new homes. The charity ensures that no animal is ever destroyed because they cannot be homed, with dedicated fosterers providing care for dogs, cats, and small mammals.

This year’s fundraising efforts aim to help the charity continue its incredible work, ensuring a better life for animals in need. The display, which has grown in creativity and scale over the years, is an all-homemade production made possible through Jo’s dedication and the generosity of visitors.

When to Visit

The full display is expected to be ready and in place by 25th October, with preparations already well underway. Visitors are encouraged to stop by throughout the half term to enjoy the decorations, take part in activities, and support a worthy local cause.
