New Year’s Eve Dining Plans Announced by the Adam Handling Collection

Published On: 27 November 2025Last Updated: 27 November 2025By

Chef Adam Handling MBE is marking Hogmanay with a series of celebratory dining experiences across his restaurants and bars, including two standout options here in Cornwall. Drawing on his Scottish roots, Adam has created New Year’s Eve tasting menus designed to deliver style, flavour and a touch of decadence as 2025 comes to a close.

Ugly Butterfly 2.0, Newquay

Set inside The Headland hotel with sweeping views over Fistral Beach, Ugly Butterfly 2.0 is offering an indulgent family-friendly New Year’s Eve experience. The restaurant transforms local Cornish ingredients into creative dishes, and its exclusive tasting menu is being billed as a memorable way to end the year.

The £250 per person menu begins with snacks, followed by dishes including ‘Tomato Tea’ and ‘Bluefin tuna, pickled black truffles, elderflower vinegar’. Dessert comes in the form of ‘Nitro’ chocolate, salted caramel’.

At the bar, guests can enjoy Winter cocktails available throughout December 2025. These include ‘In Good Company’, a chocolate twist on a Negroni, and ‘Best Behaviour’, a vodka drink inspired by apple crumble.

Whether visitors stay in the lively bar or head to The Headland’s ballroom for live music from local band The Strutts, it promises to be a standout spot for families and friends. The terrace menu will be available until 4pm on 31st December 2025.

kitchen garden.

Diners can enjoy dishes such as ‘Ember-roasted gurnard, lobster sauce, caviar’, ‘Hot-smoked sirloin, burnt swede beef fat onion’ and a ‘Salted caramel tart’. The menu is priced at £100 per person from 5pm to 8pm or £125 per person from 8pm until close.

Live music comes from Josh Curnow, giving guests the chance to celebrate into the night.
