Castle to Castle Swim 2025: Entries Now Open for Cornwall’s Iconic Sea Challenge
Entries are now open for the RNLI Castle to Castle Swim 2025, the one-mile open water challenge between Pendennis Castle in Falmouth and St Mawes Castle on the Roseland Peninsula.
The popular sea swim will take place on Sunday 22nd June 2025, with swimmers setting off from Pendennis Point, TR11 4LP, and making their way across the Carrick Roads to the opposite shore.
Limited Places – Registration Now Live
Strictly limited to 600 participants, the event is open to intermediate or experienced open water swimmers aged 14 and over. Registration costs £30 and swimmers are asked to raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship to support the lifesaving work of the RNLI.
According to organisers, “This iconic one mile open water swim is a fundraising event and entrants are required to raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship for the RNLI”.

Key Info for Swimmers
Participants must bring and wear their own wetsuit—no swimmer will be allowed in the water without one. It’s recommended that swimmers wear a swim-specific wetsuit for added buoyancy and warmth.
You’ll also need to attend a safety briefing before the swim begins, and be confident swimming at least one mile in open water conditions.
The swim is scheduled between 12:00 and 17:00 BST on the day.
Volunteers and Sponsors Also Needed
The event is largely run by volunteers, and organisers are appealing for help to make the day possible. They’re also on the lookout for potential sponsors.
“We are also looking for volunteers to help with the running of the event and potential sponsors – for more information please contact dave_nicoll@rnli.org.uk”.
Don’t Miss Out
This event fills up fast each year, and places are expected to go quickly. If you’re up for the challenge and want to support the RNLI, early booking is highly recommended.
