Crowds Enjoy Activities at Falmouth’s Festive Weekend
Falmouth drew in thousands over its Festive Weekend as visitors braved tough weather to enjoy a packed line-up of Christmas attractions. A wet weather plan kept the event running across the town centre and indoors at the Princess Pavilion, creating a warm and cheerful atmosphere despite the blustery conditions.
A Weekend Full of Christmas Fun
Crowds made the most of the festive land train, snowball fights inside the giant snow globe and gliding on the artificial ice rink. People also wandered through wintery streets, listened to live Christmas music and visited Santa in his grotto.
Businesses joined in too through the annual Christmas Shop Window Competition. Cream Cornwall took the Large Window award for its display of giant baubles, while Salt Art Supply won the Small Window prize for its handmade decorations.
Santa Shares His Thoughts
In one of the weekend’s standout moments, Father Christmas paused his December schedule to speak about the celebrations. He said, “it was a joy to meet so many wonderful families in Falmouth. Even with the blustery weather, the spirit of Christmas shone brightly throughout the town. What a magical way to start the festive season!”
Thanks From the Organisers
Falmouth Town Council and Falmouth BID thanked performers, suppliers, volunteers and businesses for helping make the weekend happen. They said the Festive Weekend showed the town’s creativity, resilience and community spirit, giving Falmouth a sparkling start to Christmas.
