Falmouth RNLI’s Visits Team has been recognised for an exceptional year of dedication and professionalism after receiving the RNLI Excellence in Volunteering Award.

Award Presented at Falmouth Lifeboat Station

The framed award was presented to Falmouth RNLI Visits Officer Andrew Mumford and members of the Visits Team by Adrian Carey, the RNLI Head of South West Region, at Falmouth Lifeboat Station.

The award recognises the team’s outstanding contribution to the RNLI over the past year. According to the release, the team maintained the highest level of professionalism and commitment to station visits during the transition from the Severn class to the Shannon class all weather lifeboats.

Their efforts led to increased visitor engagement and donations, along with greater public awareness of water safety.

Quotes from the Presentation

On presenting the award, Adrian said:
‘It’s a genuine pleasure to present the RNLI Excellence in Volunteering Award to the Falmouth Visits Team. The award recognises your tireless dedication to promoting the station and connecting to our community and, by extension, the wider RNLI.

‘Furthermore, your sustained hard work ensured that in months like August you welcomed over 600 casual and group visitors to the station. To date, in 2025, you have welcomed over 2,200 visitors and a glance through Tripadvisor and the station visitors book indicate that they had a superb time with your team.’

Andrew thanked Adrian for the recognition and said:
‘It’s great that the team’s hard work has been recognised in this way and thanked the team for their support and dedication in providing an excellent positive experience for visitors to the station.

‘Anyone interested in visiting the lifeboat station and viewing the boats, or thinking they might like to join the Visits Team, can contact me by email on andrew_mumford@rnli.org.uk for further information.’
