Falmouth Site Manager Wins National Award for Quality Homebuilding

National recognition for Cornwall site manager

A site manager building new homes in Falmouth has been named one of the best in the UK for quality. Shaun Marsden, who manages the Pen Bethan development for Barratt Homes, has won a prestigious Pride in the Job Quality Award, marking him out among the top 5% of site managers across the country.

Run by the NHBC, the UK’s leading warranty provider for new homes, the awards are now in their 45th year and are seen as the ‘Oscars’ of the homebuilding industry. They celebrate excellence in areas such as leadership, technical know-how, safety, and attention to detail.

Out of 8,200 sites, only 450 win

Every site manager registered with the NHBC is automatically entered, with around 8,200 sites assessed and only 450 winners selected. Shaun’s win puts him in an elite group helping to set the benchmark for high standards in construction.

Shaun is currently overseeing the Pen Bethan site in Falmouth, which offers a mix of 2, 3 and 4-bedroom homes set within 2.2 acres of open space, just five minutes from the town centre. The development is aimed at a range of buyers including professionals, families and those looking to downsize.

Barratt Redrow dominates awards for 21st year

In total, site managers from Barratt Redrow have scooped 115 Pride in the Job Quality Awards this year – more than any other housebuilder. It’s the 21st consecutive year the group has topped the table.

Anyone who buys a home from a site with a Pride in the Job Quality Award winner knows their property has been built to the highest standard.”

Customers back the quality

The recognition comes after Barratt Redrow also secured a five-star rating for customer satisfaction in the latest Home Builders Federation (HBF) survey. To earn that rating, over 90% of customers said they would recommend a Barratt Redrow home to a friend. The group is the only major national homebuilder to have achieved this rating 16 years in a row.
