Get Typed! – Unique Live Art Experience at Falmouth Art Gallery This May
Ever wanted to see your essence captured by a typewriter? Here’s your chance.
Falmouth Art Gallery will be hosting a special one-day event on Saturday 10th May 2025, where artist Keira Rathbone will be live-typing mini commissions using her unique typewriter art technique.
Live Typing Residency: What to Expect
Running from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Keira will be at Falmouth Art Gallery creating original artworks on the spot. Each piece, measuring approximately 10x10cm, takes around ten minutes per figure and can include between one and four people.
Visitors can either turn up on the day to watch Keira at work and join the queue, or book a slot in advance here. Prices for commissions start at £35. A range of Keira’s cards and limited-edition prints will also be available for purchase, with cash or card accepted.
Throughout the day, Keira will be chatting with visitors, offering insights into her creative process and engaging in conversation about anything you feel inclined to discuss.
More Activities on the Day
The event offers more than just live art:
-
Creative Family Workshop: Across the hall in the Council Chamber, artist Eve Bourrat will be running a family-friendly workshop, offering typewriter-themed creative activities for all ages.
-
Tea, Coffee & Cake: Visitors can enjoy free tea, coffee, and plenty of cake throughout the day.
-
Typewriter Try-It Station: Fancy trying it yourself? Head to the hands-on typewriter station and have a go.
