Major Transformation Coming to Kimberley Park Lodge: Community Café and Media Hub Underway
Falmouth Town Council is thrilled to announce the commencement of the Re-Source Project at Kimberley Park Lodge.
The project, launched this week, aims to convert the historic Lodge into a vibrant community café and media hub. This significant transformation is made possible through funding from Falmouth Town Council and the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Good Growth Programme, managed by Cornwall Council and supported by the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF).
Preserving Heritage While Innovating
The Re-Source Project will see the replacement of the outdated extension at the rear of the Lodge while preserving the main historic building. The interior will undergo extensive renovations to meet the needs of the new facilities without compromising the architectural integrity of the Lodge.
A Hub for Creativity and Learning
In collaboration with Sourcefm, the revamped space will house two recording studios and a versatile area designed for community activities, including music workshops and dance rehearsals. This initiative provides a unique opportunity for individuals of all ages to acquire new skills in broadcast media and technology. Additionally, the space will offer creative workshops, performance training, and a supportive environment for mentorship and peer engagement.
A Community Café for Connection
The new community café is set to become a focal point for creativity and connection in Falmouth. It aims to foster a welcoming atmosphere where locals can gather, share ideas, and build relationships. The café will serve as a local hub, enhancing community cohesion and offering a space for social interaction.
Commitment to Accessibility and Sustainability
Scheduled for completion by Spring 2025, the project prioritises accessibility and sustainability. The renovations are designed to ensure that the new facilities are inclusive and environmentally friendly, reflecting the council’s commitment to creating a space that serves the entire community effectively and responsibly.
Stay tuned for further updates as the Re-Source Project progresses and prepares to open its doors to the public, promising a new era of community engagement and creative exploration at Kimberley Park Lodge.
