Teenager Seriously Injured in Collision in Falmouth

A teenager has been left with potentially life-threatening injuries following a serious collision in Falmouth last night (Wednesday 6th August).

Collision at Grove Place

The incident happened at around 6.40pm at the junction of Grove Place and Avenue Road. It involved a red Aprilia motorcycle and a blue BMW 1 series.

The pillion passenger on the motorcycle, a 17-year-old male, was seriously injured and taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are believed to be life changing and possibly life threatening.

Neither the motorbike rider nor the driver of the BMW was injured.

Road Closed for Investigation

The road was closed for several hours while police carried out collision investigation work. It was reopened at 11.25pm.

A 17-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs. He remains in police custody.

Police Appeal for Information

Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or who may have dashcam footage to come forward.
