Woodland Trust Opens Free Tree Giveaway for Devon and Cornwall Farmers

Published On: 26 November 2025Last Updated: 26 November 2025By

The Woodland Trust is preparing its fifth free tree giveaway for Devon and Cornwall early next year, but farmers only have until 18th December to book their packs. The offer provides up to 100 saplings per farm, complete with guards and protection, funded by Lloyds Bank.

What Farmers Can Collect

Those taking part can choose from curated packs suited to their land, including Hedgerows, Browse, Copses and Shelterbelts. Each aims to support different goals on the farm.

The Woodland Trust sets out why trees matter for farming, noting the benefits for climate resilience, soil health and biodiversity. According to the release, trees can offer shade and shelter, act as windbreaks and help offset carbon emissions. They can also support soil structure, nutrient cycling and water retention, while attracting beneficial insects and providing habitats for birds and wildlife.

How to Take Part

Farmers can apply online through the Woodland Trust’s website and pick a collection date and location. Bookings close on 18th December using the link on the Woodland Trust page at https://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/plant-trees/south-west-tree-giveaway/.
