Narla to Offer Special Menu During Fowey Regatta Week

The renowned Fowey Regatta and Carnival will return to the South Cornish port village from 17th to 23rd August, drawing thousands of visitors to enjoy a week of sailing, gig rowing and celebrations.

One local business eager to welcome both new and familiar faces is Narla, located on Fore Street and run by MasterChef: The Professionals finalist Charlie Walters.

First Regatta for Narla

“This year will be the first year we at Narla have experienced the Fowey Regatta after opening our doors earlier this year,” said Charlie. “We are thrilled to be welcoming so many different people to our slice of Cornwall and to play our part in honouring the event.”

To mark the occasion, Narla will open every day throughout regatta week, offering special opening hours and launching a takeaway menu on Tuesday and Wednesday. Dishes will include Fowey favourite oysters, vegetable bhaji, buttermilk chicken with hot honey and dill mayonnaise, and desserts such as Mayan red chocolate with strawberries or honeycomb affogato.

Supporting a Heritage Event

Born and raised in South Cornwall, Charlie is keen to show support for one of the UK’s oldest regattas. Many will remember him from his time on national television, where he impressed judges with creative dishes made from quality ingredients, earning his place in the MasterChef: The Professionals finals.

“It just felt right to reschedule our opening times to play our part in supporting the local activities for the regatta week,” said Charlie. “We love welcoming visitors and locals alike and are keen to make sure that we do our bit to play a part in the local community and support such historical events. Pop in and see us whether you’re stopping for lunch or dinner or just fancy a quick refuel from our takeaway menu.”

How to Visit

Narla will be open every day between 17th and 23rd August, offering walk-in and bookings for Thursday to Sunday lunch and dinner. The special takeaway menu will be available on Tuesday and Wednesday.
