Hayle Gas Network Upgrade Completed in Fore Street
Work to upgrade part of the gas network in Hayle has now finished, with Wales & West Utilities confirming the project in the Fore Street area has been completed on time.
The upgrade work began in September and was carried out to ensure gas continues to flow safely and reliably to homes and businesses across the area.
Work Finished on Schedule
The gas emergency and pipeline service worked with Cornwall Council to plan the scheme, with traffic management in place throughout the works.
Wales & West Utilities said the upgrade was vital to maintain a safe and dependable gas supply, helping to keep people warm for decades to come.
Why the Upgrade Was Needed
The work was managed by Wales & West Utilities engineer Natalie Raphael, who thanked residents and businesses for their patience while the work was carried out.
Natalie said:
“We would like to thank the local community for bearing with us whilst we completed this essential work.
“While most of the gas network is underground and out of sight, it plays a central role in the daily lives of people across the area. Whether it’s heating your home, making the family dinner, or having a hot bath, we understand how important it is for your gas supply to be safe and reliable and there when you need it.
“This work was essential to keep the gas flowing to local homes and businesses today, and to make sure the gas network is ready to transport green gases in the future.”
