Half Term Activities Announced at Better Leisure Centres Across Cornwall

£1 Swims and Silent Discos Fill Cornwall This Half Term

Families across Cornwall are being offered a packed programme of half term activities at Better leisure centres, with swimming, sports and themed events running across the county.

What’s on offer this half term

A wide range of activities is available, including a sea themed silent disco, pool inflatable sessions, five day intensive swimming lessons, junior gym sessions and extended soft play hours.

Children can also swim for £1 at designated times in all centres. At Bodmin Leisure Centre, facilities include three indoor tennis courts, two badminton courts, two pickleball courts and a squash court, giving families plenty of racquet sport options.

Events across Cornwall

Activities are taking place at nine leisure centres across the county, covering St Ives, Bude, Saltash, Liskeard, St Austell, Bodmin, Newquay, Truro and Helston.

Ben Wilkinson, Partnership Manager for GLL in Cornwall, said:
“From St Ives to Bude, our nine centres will have lots going on to keep children of all ages occupied.”

He also highlighted a special event in Newquay:
“The Newquay Mermaid will be visiting the silent disco at Newquay Leisure on Friday 20 February from 5-7pm and face glitter, temporary tattoos and a colouring station will also be available there.

“Each centre has its own timetable, with additional family focused pool activities laid on in all of them.

“Just visit individual websites for details or book through the Better app.”

Who runs the centres

Operating under the Better brand, GLL is the not for profit social enterprise that runs leisure centres in Bude, Saltash, Liskeard, St Austell, Bodmin, Newquay, Truro, Helston and St Ives on behalf of the council.
