Try Something New for Free: Cornwall Leisure Centres Open Weekend

Better leisure centres across Cornwall will be opening their doors for a free weekend of activities on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd November.

Celebrate ‘Thriving on Purpose’

Timed to coincide with this month’s Social Enterprise Day, the Open Weekend follows the theme ‘Thriving on Purpose’, celebrating the positive impact of inclusive, purpose-driven activities for people of all ages and abilities.

Free Sessions Across Cornwall

Visitors can take part in a wide range of free activities and taster sessions, including pickleball, swimming, aquafit, badminton, dance, gymnastics, yoga, group cycling, Pilates, squash, tennis and fitness classes.

Operating under the Better brand, GLL is the charitable social enterprise that manages leisure centres in Bude, Saltash, Liskeard, St Austell, Bodmin, Newquay, Truro, Helston and St Ives on behalf of the council.

A Chance to Get Involved

“Our Open Weekend is a fantastic opportunity to visit your local leisure centre and find out what it offers,” said James Curry, GLL’s Head of Service in Cornwall.

“Exercise is key to good health and a fun way of getting to know new people, making new friends and trying something different.”
