Cornwall Properties Going Under the Hammer: From Lock-Ups to Coastal Homes
A wide mix of land, homes and commercial property across Cornwall will be going up for auction this month, with guide prices ranging from £15,000 to £350,000.
The September sale is part of Clive Emson Auctioneers’ largest auction in 13 years, featuring 191 lots across southern England. Bidding opens on 16th September and concludes on 18th September.
Lock-Ups and Land in Torpoint and Cawsand
A total of 29 lock-up garages in Roberts Avenue, Torpoint, are being offered in two lots.

Eight garages at 2–9 Roberts Avenue carry a freehold guide of £15,000 to £20,000.

Twenty-one garages in three blocks at 10–30 Roberts Avenue are guided at £30,000 to £35,000.

Auction Appraiser James Lofthouse said:
“Lock-up garages of this kind often prove popular at auction. They offer the option of continued use in their current guise with a rental return although some interested parties may wish to explore re-development schemes, subject to all the necessary consents.”
Also in the Torpoint area, land in Porspoder Place, Cawsand is listed at £30,000 to £40,000. The 0.04-hectare parcel, once home to a bungalow destroyed by fire, has lapsed planning permission for two apartments.
Development Opportunity Near Truro

Land next to The Ramblers in Penstraze, Chacewater, near Truro, comes with conditional planning consent for a pair of semi-detached, three-bedroom homes. The 0.14-hectare plot has a freehold guide of £120,000 plus.

Auction Appraiser Steve Appleby said:“It requires refurbishment throughout and offers excellent potential for owner-occupation, investment or resale. Its layout and location makes it suitable for a range of end uses including retail, rental, or serviced accommodation, subject to all the necessary consents.”

Also in Penzance, Bollogas Cottage at Buryas Bridge is set in nearly an acre and carries a guide of £250,000 to £260,000. Steve described it as “an excellent opportunity in a sought-after location.”

In Hayle, a detached four-bedroom bungalow in Chapel Lane, with an annexe and garage, is listed at £275,000 plus. James said:

In Redruth, a two-bedroom bungalow in Trelawney Avenue, Treskerby, is guided at £170,000 plus.

St Ives Pub Site and an Unusual Lot Near Bude

In St Ives, the cleared site of the former Sheaf of Wheat pub in Chapel Street is set for auction at £325,000 to £350,000. Planning permission has been granted for a terrace of five houses with gardens and parking.
James said:
“This is an exciting opportunity to acquire cleared land for residential development in central St Ives. The former Sheaf of Wheat site is located in Chapel Street at the junction of North Terrace and Wesley Place, providing an excellent location for the town centre, harbour and beaches.”
Meanwhile, an unusual lot comes in the form of a former pumping station in Stratton, two miles from Bude, with a guide of £15,000 plus. James added:

Also listed is a two-bedroom home in St Columb, in Stonewood Court, with a guide of £100,000 plus.

East Cornwall Listings

In Liskeard, Penria in Barn Street is a mixed-use property with planning permission to convert the ground floor into a one-bedroom flat. It has a guide of £100,000 plus.
In Launceston, Poppy Cottage in St Stephen’s Hill, a two-bedroom house, is guided at £95,000 plus.
