Autumn Tide Festival Promises a Week of Food, Art and Music on Tresco

The Isles of Scilly are set to host a celebration of island life this October with the Autumn Tide Festival, running from 8th to 15th October on Tresco.

A Week of Activities

The festival will feature a packed programme of events highlighting the island’s food, art and culture. Visitors can take part in:

• Garden tours led by Head Gardener Andrew Lawson

• Flower arranging guided by kitchen gardener Kate Lawson

• Guided morning sea swims

• Open pottery studios

• Gallery views, drinks and art auctions

• Maker’s markets

• Tresco boat rides

• Historical talks

• Live music

Organisers say the week will also provide a chance to meet local producers and makers while learning about the wildlife that thrives on Tresco.

Food, Drink and Evenings of Music

Guests will be able to enjoy freshly caught seafood, sample island brewed alcohol, and take a dip in the ocean before ending the day with “an evening reverie whilst listening to the music of the islands.”

Adding to the atmosphere, The New Inn will host the Seas the Brew Ale Festival over the weekend, featuring the St Ives Brewery ‘Channel’ IPA, which has been brewed especially for Tresco, along with a wider selection of drinks.

For those planning to stay on the island, accommodation options include rooms at The New Inn, or self-catered cottages and apartments.

“The archipelago may be small in stature, but it is mighty in opportunity, and Autumn Tide Festival will be a true celebration of all the Isles of Scilly has to offer,” the press release states.
