Walker Rescued After Fall on Coast Path at St Agnes Head

Two coastguard rescue teams were called into action on Tuesday evening after a walker fell on the coast path at St Agnes Head, showing signs of a broken hip. The incident, which took place around 18:52 on 1st October 2024, involved both the St Agnes Coastguard Search & Rescue Team and the H. M. Coastguard Portreath Rescue Team.

Teams Join Forces to Aid Injured Walker

The walker had fallen on the popular coast path, requiring assistance from the two teams. Working together, the crews moved the injured person from the cliff path to a safer area, where they awaited further treatment from the South West Ambulance Service. Both teams ensured the casualty received care and was kept warm and comfortable during the wait.

Coordinated Response

The St Agnes Coastguard confirmed the operation in a Facebook post, noting their joint efforts with the Portreath team to help the walker. Similarly, the Portreath Coastguard team echoed the situation in their own Facebook update, reminding the public to dial 999 and ask for the coastguard in case of emergencies.

Both teams extended their well wishes for the walker’s speedy recovery.
