What’s Next for Liskeard? Public Workshop Invites You to Shape the Future
Town Council Enlists Top Designers to Create New Vision for Liskeard
Liskeard Town Council has selected HemingwayDesign, a renowned urban and multidisciplinary design team, to lead the creation of a community-driven Vision and Action Plan for the town.
The consultancy, known for its experience in revitalising communities, will assess the town and its ongoing projects while engaging with residents, businesses, and local organisations to shape the next steps for Liskeard.
Consultant Team Visits Key Sites
Wayne Hemingway and his team visited Liskeard on the 12th and 13th of December to gain insight into the town’s key sites and meet with council officers, business owners, and other stakeholders.
Wayne said:
“Cornish communities are always very passionate about their towns, and we are looking forward to working with the people of Liskeard. We are holding a public workshop on Monday 17th February and hope as many people as possible will take this opportunity to get involved and shape the future of the town. So please get in touch with the Town Council if you would like to take part.”
Have Your Say at the Upcoming Workshop
A public workshop, set to take place on Monday 17th February at 5.30pm in the Public Hall, aims to gather ideas from the community. The session will include refreshments, and residents are encouraged to book their place by emailing office@liskeard.gov.uk or calling 01579 345407.
A spokesperson for Liskeard Town Council explained the importance of this collaborative approach:
“No town can stand still; they continue to adapt and grow. We know lots of people who live and visit Liskeard have views and ideas about its past, present and future. We often see ideas and comments posted on social media from passionate people about our town. Now is everyone’s chance to input and help shape the economic vision of our town.”
Funding Boost for Community Vision
The project is being funded by the Cornwall Council Town Accelerator Fund.
The spokesperson added:
“We have commissioned HemingwayDesign to lead this vital work, who can bring an outside perspective whilst listening to all the local challenges and great ideas that will take our town forward into its next chapter, and we encourage everyone to come along to the workshop and get involved.”
With the future of Liskeard at stake, this workshop offers a key opportunity for residents to have their voices heard and help shape the town’s direction.
