Elton John Tribute Night Raises Thousands for Looe RNLI – Fans Couldn’t Get Enough!

A Night to Remember

Over 140 Elton John fans packed into the Hannafore Point Hotel in Looe last Saturday, 15th March 2025, for a spectacular “Rocketman” tribute evening. The event, organised by Looe RNLI’s fundraising branch, saw singer Lee Quinney and his band deliver a high-energy performance that had the crowd on their feet, dancing and singing along.

Shirley Adams, one of the organisers, described the night as electric. “Lee Quinney / Elton John aka Rocketman was electric, the whole room was singing and dancing the night away, the audience wanted more he was so good! I’m sure in time we will ask him back, Lee is a supporter of the RNLI and promoted us throughout the evening.”

Fundraising Success

Alongside the music, a raffle and auction boosted the fundraising total to over £2,300, all in support of Looe Lifeboat Station and its volunteer crews.

Lee and his band had never played in Looe before and were thrilled by the crowd’s reaction. They were equally delighted to hear how much had been raised for the RNLI.

Community Support

The event was made possible thanks to the generosity of the Hannafore Point Hotel, which provided the venue free of charge and donated one of the raffle prizes. Shirley extended her gratitude to Phil, David, and the hotel staff for their support, saying, “Nothing was too much trouble, their support was gratefully received.”

She also thanked everyone who purchased tickets, placed auction bids, or bought raffle tickets, as well as those who donated prizes, all of whom contributed to the impressive fundraising total.
