How £80 in Recycled Cans Helped Looe RNLI Buy Vital Lifesaving Kit
A donation of £80 raised through recycled drink cans has helped Looe RNLI lifeboat station purchase essential lifesaving equipment.
A Small Effort Making a Big Difference
Local RNLI supporter Richard Davies has been collecting and recycling drink cans, recently donating the £80 he raised to the station. When Richard was seen watching the volunteer crews launch for the HMCG helicopter exercise on Saturday morning, 25th October 2025, the team took the opportunity to thank him in person.

New Equipment for Shore-Based Rescues
Lifeboat Operations Manager Clive Palfrey and crew casualty care lead Victoria Thomas showed Richard the new Casualty Care dry bag purchased with his donation. They explained that the bag will be used to hold a shore side casualty care kit, allowing it to be taken to land-based incidents rather than removing one from the inshore lifeboat.
The dry bag will also serve as a useful aid for classroom casualty care training.
