Landslip Disruption on A387 Polperro Road: Looe Town Council and Cornwall Authorities Respond
A landslip on the A387 Polperro Road, on the West Looe side of the bridge, has prompted immediate action from Looe Town Council, Cornwall Highways, and Cornwall Council’s Highway and Building Control teams.
The landslip is currently being managed with concrete barriers, and traffic is being controlled through signals designed to optimise flow. However, residents and visitors are warned to expect queuing and potential delays.
The disruption began when a wall on the roadside collapsed, leading to the landslip. In response, Looe Town Council swiftly convened with both Cornwall Highways and Cornwall Council’s dedicated teams to address the issue. These discussions have also involved the owner of the collapsed wall, focusing on responsibilities for the incident and the necessary repairs.
Efforts are underway by all involved parties to resolve the situation as quickly as possible, with a strong emphasis on reopening the road fully to traffic. The authorities are working closely to manage the impact on the local community and minimise inconvenience, while ensuring the safety of all road users.
Residents are advised to stay informed about the situation and plan their travel accordingly to avoid delays. Further updates will be provided by Looe Town Council as the repair work progresses and a resolution is reached.
