Police Appeal After Fatal Road Collision in East Cornwall
Police appeal for witnesses and dash-cam footage
A man from the St Austell area has died following a two-vehicle collision near Looe on Friday 18th July.
Emergency services were called around 9am to reports of a crash on the A387 Polperro Road, at the junction for Oaklands Holiday Park. The collision involved a black Suzuki motorcycle and a blue Peugeot 2008.
Despite the efforts of emergency crews and members of the public, the motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
Road closed for forensic investigation
The road remained shut while officers from the Devon and Cornwall Police Roads Policing Unit carried out a forensic collision investigation. Police have thanked the public for their help at the scene and for their patience while the road was closed.
Appeal for information
Anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dash-cam footage is urged to contact Devon and Cornwall Police on 101 or via their website quoting log 212 of 18 July.
