Sun Shines on Looe Raft Race: £1,576.09 Raised for Lifeboat Station
Crowds Gather to Support Annual Charity Event
The 2024 Looe Raft Race brought the community together last Sunday, 16 June, raising £1,576.09 for the Looe RNLI Lifeboat Station. With the sun shining brightly, enthusiastic crowds lined Banjo Pier and the quaysides to cheer on 22 rafts navigating the picturesque route from East Looe beach to the bridge and back, with a shorter course for junior participants.
Successful Fundraising Efforts
Organised by the Looe Boat Owners Association (LBOA) in collaboration with the RNLI Lifeboat Station’s fundraising team, the event successfully raised vital funds through entry fees, sponsorships, and a bucket collection. Over the years, this cherished race has accumulated around £25,000 for Looe RNLI, providing essential support for the lifeboat services.
