What’s Behind the Doors at Tregoad? £2.4 Million Pool and Spa Now Open
New luxury leisure facility opens at Tregoad Holiday Park near Looe
Tregoad Holiday Park has today unveiled a brand-new luxury indoor pool, sauna, and steam room as part of a major £2.4 million development.
The Barn, as the new facility is called, officially opened on Saturday 12th April with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Chair of Visit Cornwall Jon Hyatt, local MP Anna Geldred, and Waterside Group Chair and owner Miranda Jacobs.
Guests were treated to a Cornish celebration with live local music, fizz, traditional pasties, and cider as they explored the new pool, spa facilities, and high-end interiors inspired by coastal living.
A Four-Year Transformation for Tregoad
The new facility is part of a wider transformation by the Waterside Group, which owns Tregoad Holiday Park, just outside Looe. Over the past four years, the group – led by the Jacobs family – has invested heavily in the park, introducing premium pitches, the Stargazy Restaurant & Bar, and now this state-of-the-art indoor leisure facility.
“This is a great investment for the park and local community,” said Matt Way, Group Operations Director. “Not only does it elevate the experience for our guests and holiday home owners, but it also creates more opportunities for the local community.”
The park’s team has grown to 21 permanent roles, with around 85 staff employed during the summer season.
Built Off-Site, Ready for the Future
The Barn is one of the UK’s most ambitious pool builds using sectional shell technology – constructed off-site and craned into position. It’s powered by air source heat pumps and includes solar-ready infrastructure and smart building systems, offering a sustainable and energy-efficient design.
The luxury facility, which includes a sauna and steam room alongside the main pool, is now open to both holidaymakers and local residents. Locals can book a day retreat to enjoy the spa-like setting.
Supporting the Community
The development isn’t just for guests. Tregoad Holiday Park has teamed up with Swimtime to offer swimming lessons for local children, giving them access to high-quality facilities close to home.
“We are very passionate about giving back to the community and growing into our surroundings,” added Matt. “Local families can book swimming lessons online and enjoy our on-site soft play, coffee lounge, and other facilities while their children learn a vital life skill.”
More Than Just One Park
Tregoad is one of four parks operated by the Waterside Holiday Group, which also runs Bowleaze Cove Holiday Park & Spa, Chesil Beach Holiday Park in Weymouth, and Osmington Mills Lodge Park in Dorset.
