Loving tributes have been paid to 18-year-old Kyle James Marshall Endean, described by his family as a “true gentleman”, after he tragically died in a single-car collision near Lostwithiel.

Collision Near Lerryn

The incident happened at around 9.45pm on Saturday 20th September. Kyle was travelling in a blue Mini Cooper which left an unnamed road between Lerryn and Lostwithiel and collided with a wall. The car was later located off the road on fire.

Tragically, both Kyle and the other occupant of the car, the owner of the vehicle aged in his 20s, died at the scene.

Family Statement

In a heartfelt tribute, Kyle’s parents Darren and Stella Endean said:

“Darren and Stella Endean tragically lost their beloved 18-year-old son Kyle, in a single car road traffic collision on Saturday night 20 September 2025.

Kyle had not long finished work when the collision had occurred.

Kyle was one of those rare souls who brought light and kindness wherever he went.

Gentle, thoughtful and endlessly respectful, he was a true gentleman in every sense – someone who listened deeply, cared genuinely and made people feel valued.

His warmth, quiet confidence and generous spirit left a mark on everyone who met him.

Kyle’s loss is immeasurable, and he will be profoundly missed by all who had the honour of knowing him.

In these first few days please consider the consequences of any speculation to why this tragic incident occurred as there are two families grieving the loss of two young men.

The Endeans would like to state they offer their sincere condolences to the family of the other young man involved.

Darren, Stella, Kyle’s sister Amy, his girlfriend Ava, and the rest of the family are making the first hard steps following this awful news and are kindly asking for space to grieve without interruption.

The Endean family will issue a further update when they are ready.

Rest in eternal peace, Kyle.”
