Dive Into Adventure and Support Mental Health with “6 Bays in One Day 2024”

Published On: 10 September 2024Last Updated: 10 September 2024By

This September, Cornwall Mind invites you to join a unique cold-water swimming event, 6 Bays in One Day, which promises to blend exhilarating coastal adventure with community spirit and charitable giving.

Make a Splash for a Good Cause

First launched in the wake of the 2020 lockdown, 6 Bays in One Day has quickly become a cherished annual tradition, thanks to its founders, the Newquay Bluetits and Swimminwimmin. This fundraiser not only boosts your mental and physical health but also supports Cornwall Mind, an independent charity dedicated to helping those facing mental health challenges in Cornwall.

Event Details

Participants will have the opportunity to complete six different cold-water dips in one day, anytime between Friday, 20th September and Monday, 30th September. Choose your favourite Cornish beaches and plan a day of fun, friendship, and refreshing swims.

Tickets are available here for a £10 entry fee, which directly enables Cornwall Mind to provide crucial support services. Additionally, every participant will receive a specially designed patch and certificate by Ruth Pocock, sponsored by Cornwall Swim Company.

Special Offers and Fundraising

In a special promotion, registrants will receive a free floating cork keyring with every purchase from the Sisters of the Sea UK shop until the end of September. Visit their shop to claim your keyring.

While there is no minimum sponsorship requirement, participants are encouraged to seek sponsorship individually or as a team to help support Cornwall Mind’s vital services. To support or start a fundraising initiative, visit the JustGiving campaign page. A comprehensive fundraising pack is also available to assist participants in their efforts.

Participant Testimonials

Jo, a previous participant, shared her enthusiasm: “This is such a great event, not only are we boosting our own wellbeing by getting out in nature and feeling the benefits of the sea, but we are also supporting mental health in Cornwall. The more people get involved, the more we raise for mental health right here in our county. It’s as simple as that.”
