Free Winter Entry for Locals at the Minack Theatre
See the sea, the stage and a bit of Cornwall’s magic this November
Cornwall’s most iconic clifftop stage has announced something special for locals this winter – free entry for TR postcode residents. The Minack Theatre in Porthcurno is inviting people who live in Cornwall to visit as often as they like between November and February, completely free of charge.
Free passes for locals
From 1st November, Cornish residents can apply for a TR Local Winter Pass, giving unlimited free entry during regular visiting hours through the colder months. The pass covers the holder, one other adult and up to three children (aged 15 or under) in the same household.
If you’re lucky enough to live even closer, in a TR19 postcode, you can go one better — a TR19 Local Annual Pass offers free access all year round. Both passes need to be booked online before visiting, but there’s no charge once you check out.
It’s a generous offer from one of Cornwall’s most loved attractions, giving people the chance to experience the theatre without the summer crowds. Whether you’ve never been or haven’t been for years, this is the perfect excuse to pop back and soak it all in.

What you’ll see
Even in November, the Minack is far from quiet. The theatre is open Wednesday to Sunday, with the panoramic café serving light lunches, coffee and cakes. There’s no better spot for a hot chocolate with a view — even on stormy days, when the Atlantic puts on its own kind of show.
The season continues with performances too. The British Theatre Academy will take to the stage again on 31st October and 1st November with We Will Rock You (Young@Part) — a shorter, high-energy version of the West End musical packed with Queen hits and a powerful message of freedom and self-expression.
Celebrating the best of the year
This autumn also saw the Minack announce the winners of its 2025 Minack Trophy, awarded to the standout productions of the year. For the first time ever, the trophy has been shared.
The British Theatre Academy won for The Who’s Tommy, a daring and electrifying rock opera led by Cornish musical director Millie Millington. They share the honour with Bodkin Theatre Company, whose imaginative staging of Miss Benson’s Beetle — adapted by Ben Oldfield from Rachel Joyce’s novel — enchanted audiences with its heartfelt performances by Lucy Morgan and Bethany Merryn.
Visit this winter
With its dramatic views, cosy café and a few surprises on stage, the Minack remains a stunning place to visit year-round.
Locals can now explore it as often as they like — for free.
