Cornwall is set to host the very first AHC Food Festival, launched by Chef Adam Handling MBE, this October.

Taking place on Saturday 4th October (12–11pm) and Sunday 5th October (12–9pm) at The Tartan Fox near Newquay, the weekend promises a full showcase of the Adam Handling Collection (AHC) – bringing together restaurants, pubs and bars from across the group for the first time.

Food, Firepits and Feasting

The two-day event will be filled with chef demos, masterclasses, wine tastings, cocktails, live music and dishes from some of Adam’s best-known venues. Guests can enjoy creations from Frog by Adam Handling, Eve Bar, Ugly Butterfly 2.0, The Loch & the Tyne, The Tartan Fox, and the Adam Handling Chocolate Shop.

A Saturday night sharing banquet, cooked over flames by Adam, will begin at 7pm with tickets priced at £50 per person. Reservations can be made via reservations@tartanfoxpub.co.uk.

£10 Plates From Across the Collection

Pop-up food stalls will be offering dishes at £10 each, including:

  • The Loch & the Tyne’s ‘BBQ octopus hot dog’

  • The Tartan Fox’s ‘Smoked Cornish rump’ and ‘Stuffed Yorkshire’ (Sunday only)

  • Frog’s ‘Spicy BBQ monkfish with charred summer runner beans’

  • Ugly Butterfly’s ‘Pollock, beans, fermented tomatoes’

The release recommends “three or four dishes per person” to experience the full variety on offer. Guests will be able to purchase £10 food vouchers on the day to redeem at any of the stalls.

Chocolate, Wine and Cocktails

Paul Stradling, Head Chocolatier from Adam Handling Chocolate Shop, will be demonstrating chocolate-making techniques, from hand-painting bonbons to crafting hazelnut spread. These demos run in the pub’s tipi between 12–4pm and are complimentary.

Wine Director Kelvin McCabe and Eve Bar Manager Mario Hernandez will lead masterclasses in the barn, covering “How to blind taste wines”, “Winter reds”, “Classic cocktails and methods” and “Tarquin’s Cornish Gin and Cocktails”. Tickets for these sessions are £20 and available to purchase at the event.

Music and Atmosphere

Live performances will begin from 6pm on both days, with artists including Cornish musician Josh Curnow. Firepits, drinks stands and Jubel’s Land Rover bar will add to the atmosphere.

A Cornish Setting

The Tartan Fox, Adam’s luxury countryside pub, opened in June 2024. Nestled in a 400-year-old Grade II listed building, it has quickly become known for its use of Cornish produce and zero-waste ethos.

The venue will remain open for food and drinks during the festival. For those wanting to make a weekend of it, camping is available nearby through Carvynick Holiday Park.
