Can You Crack the Cornish Word on Newquay’s Free St Piran’s Trail?
A free St Piran’s Trail is set to run across Newquay from Saturday 28th February to Saturday 7th March 2026, inviting families and visitors to explore the town while solving a Cornish word puzzle.
A Town Trail With a Twist
The St Piran’s Trail is organised by Newquay Town Council Events in collaboration with Newquay Library and Information Service. Participants are invited to pick up a free trail map and follow it around Newquay, stopping at key locations to find posters displaying hidden letters.
Each letter collected helps build a mystery Cornish word. Once the word has been solved, completed clue sheets can be returned to the library to claim a prize.
Where to Start
The trail begins at Newquay Library and Information Service, located at Marcus Hill, Newquay, TR7 1BD. Trail maps can be collected from the Visitor Information Desk inside the library.
Maps will be available from the afternoon of Friday 27th February 2026, allowing people to get a head start ahead of the official launch the following day.
Dates and Opening Times
The trail can be completed at any time between 28th February and 7th March 2026. Participants are reminded that the Library and Information Service is closed on Sundays.
A Free Family Activity for St Piran’s Day
Designed as a fun and accessible activity, the trail offers a way to discover Newquay while learning more about Cornish culture and heritage. It is free to take part and aimed at families looking for something different to do during the St Piran’s celebrations.
Anyone completing the trail will need to return to the library before the end date to collect their reward.
