Coastguard’s Late-Night Search Ends in Relief as Missing Person Found Safe
Late on Saturday, 17th August 2024, a coordinated search and rescue operation unfolded in the Mawgan Porth area.
The Newquay Coastguard Rescue Team, in collaboration with HM Coastguard Padstow and Devon & Cornwall Police, launched an intensive search for a missing individual, triggering widespread concern in the local community.
At precisely 8:43 PM, the Newquay Coastguard Rescue Team received the call to assist the police in the search effort. Responding promptly, the team was joined by a senior coastguard officer and the Police Helicopter, expanding the search’s reach and efficiency.
Search Extends from Mawgan Porth to Porthcothan
The search was extensive, covering the area from Mawgan Porth to Porthcothan. Every nook and cranny of the coastline was scoured as the teams worked tirelessly to locate the missing person. The combined expertise and resources of the coastguard units and police forces ensured that the search was conducted with precision and speed.
