Emergency Services Assist Casualty Near Tolcarne, Newquay
Emergency services were called to the Newquay coast on Tuesday evening after a report of a casualty near Tolcarne.
Rescue tasking on Tuesday 13th January
At 1903hrs on Tuesday 13th January 2026, Newquay Coastguard Rescue Team and HM Coastguard Padstow were tasked to assist Devon & Cornwall Police and South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.
The tasking related to a casualty reported near Tolcarne.
Casualty brought to safety
After locating the casualty, a rope rescue was set up and successfully carried out. The casualty was brought to safety and then handed over to the ambulance service for onward care.
Coastguard safety message
The Coastguard has reminded the public:
“If you see someone in difficulty along the coast, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.”
The message ended with a reminder for everyone to stay safe.
