Lappa Valley Wins Four Awards at 2025 Primary Times Cornwall Star Awards

Four Awards. One Winner. Why Families Chose Lappa Valley

One of Cornwall’s best-known family attractions is celebrating a big win after picking up four major honours at the 2025 Primary Times Cornwall Star Awards.

Lappa Valley, near Newquay, was named Overall Winner, alongside taking home awards for Best Recommendation to Friends and Family, Best Value for Money, and Best Family Full Day Out.

The awards are voted for by families across Cornwall, with readers of Primary Times invited to support and recognise their favourite family friendly places.

Awards Chosen by Cornish Families

The Cornwall Star Awards are decided entirely by public votes, with families sharing their experiences and casting their support for attractions they feel deserve recognition.

Speaking after the announcement, Keith Southwell said the team were particularly proud that the awards reflected the views of families from across Cornwall.

He said creating memorable days out for families remains central to what Lappa Valley offers and thanked both the attraction’s team and everyone who voted.

A Focus on Value and Family Experiences

Set in a scenic Cornish location, Lappa Valley is well known for its railway journeys and wide range of activities aimed at visitors of all ages. The attraction continues to place a strong emphasis on value for money and family focused experiences, something reflected in this year’s results.

A History of National Recognition

The latest success adds to a growing list of accolades for Lappa Valley in recent years. The attraction was named Railway of the Year at the Heritage Railway Association Awards 2025 and has also received multiple honours in the Cornwall Tourism Awards Large Visitor Attraction category.

Consistently strong visitor feedback has also seen Lappa Valley placed among the top 10% of attractions worldwide in the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards.

With four more awards now added to the shelf, Lappa Valley’s reputation as a standout family day out in Cornwall looks firmly reinforced.
