Late-Night Emergency Unfolds on Towan Beach: Casualty Stretchered Off by Coastguard Team

Emergency call-out in the early hours

Newquay Coastguard Rescue Team were called into action in the early hours of Sunday 13th April to assist with a medical emergency on Towan Beach. The tasking, marked as #34 for the year, came through at 00:21hrs.

The team responded swiftly, working alongside South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust to assist a casualty on the beach. According to the official update shared on Facebook, they helped to package the individual and stretcher them from the beach to an awaiting ambulance.

Team efforts praised

No further details about the casualty have been released, but the Coastguard team added: “We wish them a speedy recovery.”

Reminder from the Coastguard

As part of their post, the team issued a reminder to the public: “If you see someone in difficulty along the coast, dial 999 and ask for the coastguard.”
