Newquay Leisure World Launches Rookie Lifeguard Lessons for Aspiring Young Lifesavers
Newquay Leisure World is inviting children with an interest in lifesaving and water safety to join their Rookie Lifeguard lessons. The program is designed for youngsters who are either 10 years old and can swim competently 50m front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke or have completed the Silver level in the leisure centre’s swimming lessons. It aims to equip them with the skills and confidence necessary for water safety and potentially pave the way for a future in lifeguarding.
The Rookie Lifeguard lessons are scheduled for Monday evenings from 4.45 pm to 5.30 pm. To be eligible, children must be confident in deep water and capable of swimming 50 meters in front crawl, backstroke, and breaststroke competently. This program is part of Newquay Leisure World’s Academy and seeks to instil essential lifesaving skills in young swimmers.
The cost of the program is £40.50 per month, which includes a 45-minute lesson each week. Additionally, membership grants free swimming for the child at their home centre during public sessions, offering further opportunity for practice and improvement.
Parents and guardians interested in enrolling their children in the Rookie Lifeguard lessons or seeking more information can visit the RLSS website or Newquay Leisure World’s official website. Bookings can also be made through the Better UK app, providing a convenient option for busy families.
This program represents an excellent opportunity for children to learn important lifesaving skills, improve their swimming, and possibly work towards becoming lifeguards in the future.
