Plans Submitted for Major Redevelopment of Victoria Hotel Site in Newquay
Plans have been submitted to Cornwall Council for a significant redevelopment of the Victoria Hotel site on East Street in Newquay.
According to a planning notice posted at the site, Nici Hotels (Newquay) Ltd has applied for permission to refurbish and extend the Hotel Victoria. The proposals also include the demolition of several neighbouring buildings.
These include the Griffin Inn, Señor Dick’s Mexican Restaurant and a number of other buildings connected to the site.
What’s being proposed
The application outlines plans for the creation of 81 apartments, located to the north west of the hotel and along Cliff Road. The development would also include a commercial unit at ground floor level.
Associated works listed in the application include landscaping, parking, infrastructure and other related works.

Members of the public can view the full application and plans on Cornwall Council’s online planning portal. Comments can be submitted within 21 days of the date shown on the site notice.
The notice states that comments should quote the application number and be clearly marked as either support or objection.
