Milla Magee Champions CPR Education During Prince William’s Visit
Newquay’s very own Milla Magee, recently crowned Miss Newquay and now a proud ambassador for the town, had a momentous first public engagement at Fistral Beach. Her involvement with the ‘Love Newquay’ campaign aligns with her efforts to promote the coastal town and its local businesses. The visit coincided with a royal visit by Prince William, Duke of Cornwall, who was in town to engage with community lifeguards and local children.
A Royal Meeting with a Purpose
During the visit, Milla had the opportunity to speak with Prince William about her passionate campaign, ‘GOFARWITHCPR,’ which aims to make CPR and first aid training compulsory in schools. Prince William acknowledged the critical importance of CPR, agreeing that such knowledge could indeed be a life-saving tool. He supported the integration of this training into the national curriculum as an essential skill for young learners.
Milla’s discussions with the Prince also touched upon her journey in the Miss England competition, with the finals scheduled to take place next week in Wolverhampton. Sponsored by ‘Watermans,’ the event is eagerly anticipated, and as Milla shared, Prince William expressed his support, saying, “we all are rooting for you.”

Day of Awareness and Advocacy
The day was filled with activities that underscored the importance of first aid and safety, with local lifesaving services and children participating in CPR awareness sessions. Milla, who has previously worked with the RNLI and raised funds for them, expressed her admiration for the ongoing awareness efforts, noting how closely they resonated with her campaign.
As Milla continues to advocate for her cause, she plans to engage with local MPs and educational leaders to further the reach of her campaign within the government, ensuring that the younger generation is equipped with the life-saving skills of CPR and first aid.
A Bright Future Ahead
With the royal acknowledgment and community support, Milla Magee’s campaign looks set to make significant impacts on public health education. As she steps onto larger platforms, both as Miss Newquay and potentially Miss England, her dedication to promoting essential life skills continues to inspire and ignite change within the community and beyond.
