Serious Injury Collision Reported on Porth Way in Newquay

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in Newquay.

What happened

Officers were called at around 6.30pm on Friday 19th December after reports of a collision on Porth Way, at the junction with Well Way.

The collision involved a white Volkswagen Golf and an electric bike.

Injuries and response

The rider of the electric bike, a man in his 20s from the Newquay area, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. His next of kin have been informed.

Local road closures were put in place while officers carried out an examination of the scene. The road reopened at around 10.30pm.

Appeal for information

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have dashcam footage or other information that could help with enquiries, to get in touch.
