St Columb Financial Services Confirm £500 Sponsorship for Joe Way Paddle for Life

Published On: 9 February 2026Last Updated: 9 February 2026By

The Joe Way Paddle for Life has received an early fundraising boost after St Columb Financial Services confirmed its return as a £500 business sponsor for this year’s event.

The organisers announced that Andy and Barbara Hannan of St Columb Financial Services are once again backing the paddle, with their sponsorship going directly into the charity fundraising pot.

Thanks to match funding from The Wave Project, the £500 sponsorship has already doubled, meaning the event starts this year with £1,000 raised.

Match Funding Doubles Early Impact

The Wave Project provides surf therapy for young people who are struggling with mental health challenges, confidence and wellbeing. The match funding arrangement means every pound raised through sponsorship goes further.

Andy Hannan of St Columb Financial Services said:
“The Paddle for Life is one of those events that really brings the community together. It’s incredibly well run, it supports brilliant causes, and you can see the difference it makes. We’re proud to be backing it again this year, and knowing our £500 sponsorship is being match funded for The Wave Project makes it even more worthwhile.”

Organisers Welcome Returning Support

Event organiser Matt Way said the sponsorship was a strong start to this year’s fundraising effort.

“We’re incredibly grateful to Andy and Barbara for once again backing the Paddle. Their £500 sponsorship instantly becoming £1,000 thanks to match funding shows just how powerful business support can be. It’s a brilliant way to kick-start our fundraising total and sets the tone for the event.”

With momentum building, organisers are now inviting more local businesses to get involved as £500 sponsors.

What £500 Sponsorship Includes

A £500 sponsorship:

  • Goes straight into the charity fundraising pot

  • Can benefit from match funding where available

  • Includes recognition across event promotion and on the day

  • Shows clear support for a long-running community event, with tax relief available

A Much-Loved Newquay Harbour Event

The Joe Way Paddle for Life is a popular event held at Newquay Harbour, bringing together paddlers, families, volunteers and local businesses to raise money for children’s charities and community causes.

Since it began, the paddle has raised more than £185,000 for charities across Cornwall and beyond.

This year’s event takes place on Thursday 18th June at Newquay Harbour, starting at 3pm.
