The Esplanade Hotel in Newquay Announces Creative Break for November 2025

The Esplanade Hotel in Newquay has announced a new Creative Break, offering guests the chance to combine coastal relaxation with hands-on workshops and nourishing food. The two-night retreat takes place from Friday 7th to Sunday 9th November 2025 and is set against the backdrop of Fistral Beach.

A Weekend of Creativity and Relaxation

The break begins on the Friday evening with a welcome dinner in the hotel’s Cove Restaurant, followed by a talk and live demonstration from Gemma Lessinger. Gemma is known for her richly textured works created from upcycled materials such as fishing net offcuts, fibreglass and vintage clothing, blending sustainability with storytelling to create ocean-inspired art.

On Saturday morning, guests will join The Seaweed Institute for a Seaweed Printing Workshop. This session includes foraging, learning about edible species and sustainable harvesting, and producing framed seaweed art while exploring the history and ecology of seaweed.

After a wellbeing lunch in the Cove Restaurant, the afternoon continues with a needle-felting landscape workshop led by Araminta Greaves Fibreista. Using natural fibres and textures, participants will create their own felted artwork, with optional embellishments such as beads and textured threads.
