What Really Happens After You Win an Art Award? Find Out This Sunday at Nansledan
Award-winning artist to share her story at the Nansledan Arts Festival
If you’ve ever wondered what it’s really like to win an art prize, this Sunday’s talk at the Nansledan Arts Festival might be the perfect place to find out.
Diane Griffiths, who recently won The People’s Choice Award 2024 in The British Art Prize with her painting Driving Home (a depiction of the Newquay Texaco garage), will be sharing her behind-the-scenes experience in a one-off talk titled Beyond the Prize: Insights into Winning an Art Award.
A glimpse into life after the win
The session will explore the full journey, from submitting her entry through to the voting campaign, receiving the award, the London exhibition, and being featured in Artists & Illustrators magazine.
Diane will also give advice on entering art competitions, explain why rejection isn’t personal, and talk about how to make the most of opportunities that come your way. The talk promises to be a helpful and honest account of what it really means to win—and what happens next.
